104 Killed in Anti-Government demonstration in Libya

Observer organizations of human rights, Human Rights Watch (HRW) said, at least 104 were killed in a series of anti-government demonstrations in Libya.

The amount is derived from eyewitness testimony and medical parties in several cities in Libya.

"Our investigators in Libya has confirmed that at least 104 people were killed," said an activist HRW, Porteous, told AFP on Sunday (02/20/2011).

A hospital staff in the city of Benghazi Al Jalal told HRW they had received 20 bodies on Saturday, February 19 night. In addition there are 25 other demonstrators were hospitalized in critical condition.

"Most of the wounded suffered gunshot wounds to the head, neck and shoulder," beber Porteous.

He added that the Government of Libya has cut internet access since Saturday and tapping phone lines. Wiretapping was done so that the government can extract information development demonstrations.

"We are very sad with communication breakdown that occurred in Libya since yesterday. Human rights disaster is happening here, "he said.
