Yoshinori Watanabe and Yakuza
Maybe some of you have heard the word Yakuza? According to wikipedia, the Yakuza are members of traditional Japanese crime syndicate. Japanese police and media call boryokudan or group violence. Meanwhile, members of the yakuza call themselves ninkyo dantai or literally can mean the organization were very polite.
In many action movies, Yakuza members described as violent men, fierce and fearless. In addition, they also uphold the honor and the secret organization. Is this true? An Indonesian journalist, Richard Susilo a 20-year stay in Japan, Yakuza pursue the ins and outs of this. And, Richard donated a number of his writings about the Yakuza.
Who says crime group called Yakuza, can only ask for money only? The main leader of the largest yakuza group, Yamaguchi-gumi to-5, Yoshinori Watanabe (71) even donated billions of yen worth of food for tens of thousands of victims of natural disasters in Kobe in 1995. This is obviously not going to be forgotten by many urban residents and their families.
Watanabe became boss in 1989 and stopped in 2005 due to age and health. He is the most respected many yakuza group as the lead intelligence and ability to mediate when there are two parties to the dispute.
