Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is expected is the richest man in the world with a fortune of  70 billion U.S. dollars. Mubarak's family wealth is reported to reach 70 billion U.S. dollars, in which the majority are kept in Swiss banks or invested in real estate in New York, Los Angeles, and London.

Property worth 70 billion U.S. dollars were put in a position Mubarak richest person in the world by setting aside a Mexican businessman, Carlos Slim Helu, with a net worth of 53.5 billion U.S. dollars, and the founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates, the richest man in the U.S. with wealth at 53 billion dollars U.S..

According to Amaney Jamal, professor of politics at Princeton University, as quoted by the ABC television network news in the U.S., Mubarak's rule for 3 decades in Egypt has opened discretion in determining the maximum any government decision. While the ABC, Christopher Davidson, a professor of Middle East political science at the University of Durham, UK, explained, Mubarak with his wife and two sons have managed to accumulate wealth through business partnerships with a number of foreign businessmen.
